According to Genesis, Noah was 601 years old when the Flood waters had dried from the earth.
Genesis 8:13 places this event on the first day of the first month in Noah’s 601st year. Noah removed the covering of the Ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. The text later says that God instructed Noah to leave the Ark with his family and the animals.
This age is easy to confuse with the beginning of the Flood. Genesis 7:6 says Noah was 600 years old when the Flood waters came upon the earth. The next age therefore marks the following year, after the waters have receded.
Genesis also gives Noah a total lifespan of 950 years. That later number is not his age when the Flood ended, nor is it the age at which he entered the Ark.
