Answer
Girl's Tyme
Answer
Girl's Tyme
Destiny's Child was originally called Girl's Tyme.
The group began in Houston, Texas, in 1990, when Beyoncé Knowles, LaTavia Roberson, Kelly Rowland, and other young performers sang together under the name Girl's Tyme. The spelling used an apostrophe in “Girl's,” although the phrase is often mistakenly written as “Girls' Time” or “Girls Time.”
The group appeared on the television talent program Star Search in 1993, but it did not win. After further lineup changes and a record deal, the act adopted the name Destiny's Child, taken from a passage in the Bible's Book of Isaiah.
Destiny's Child eventually became one of the best-selling female groups in music history. Its best-known lineup featured Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, while the early Girl's Tyme period included several members who later left the group.
