Beyoncé’s second solo studio album, released in 2006, was B'Day.
The album was released on September 4, 2006, Beyoncé’s 25th birthday, which explains its title. It followed Dangerously in Love and continued her development as a solo artist with a more energetic blend of contemporary R&B, pop, funk, and hip-hop influences.
B'Day produced singles including “Déjà Vu,” “Ring the Alarm,” “Irreplaceable,” and “Beautiful Liar,” a duet with Shakira. “Irreplaceable” became one of Beyoncé’s biggest US chart successes and spent ten weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2007. It is sometimes confused with Beyoncé’s later album 4, but B'Day is the release associated with her 25th birthday and her second solo-album position.
