Beyoncé gave her first Super Bowl halftime performance in 2013 at Super Bowl XLVII.
The show took place on February 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Her set included songs such as “Crazy in Love,” “Love on Top,” and “Halo,” and it featured a reunion with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child.
The performance became one of the most discussed halftime shows of its era. A temporary power outage affected parts of the stadium after halftime, although it was not caused by Beyoncé’s performance itself.
Beyoncé returned as a featured performer during Coldplay’s Super Bowl 50 halftime show in 2016. That later appearance is why 2016 is sometimes incorrectly given as her first Super Bowl halftime year.
