Answer
Austin Powers in Goldmember
Beyoncé’s first feature film as an actress was Austin Powers in Goldmember.
Released in 2002, the film is the third entry in the Austin Powers comedy series. Beyoncé played Foxxy Cleopatra, an undercover agent and singer who becomes involved with Austin Powers. The character was styled as a playful homage to 1970s blaxploitation heroines.
The movie starred Mike Myers in multiple roles and was directed by Jay Roach. Beyoncé also contributed the song “Work It Out” to the soundtrack, linking her film debut with her recording career. At the time, she was already widely known as a member of Destiny’s Child.
People sometimes identify Dreamgirls as her film debut because it was her first major dramatic leading role. However, Dreamgirls was released in 2006, four years after Austin Powers in Goldmember. Beyoncé’s later screen work included Cadillac Records, Obsessed, and voice acting in The Lion King.
