Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album, the first act in a planned trilogy, was called Renaissance.
Released on July 29, 2022, Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album. It was presented as “Act I,” establishing a larger three-part project. The album’s title refers to renewal and rebirth, while its music draws heavily on house, disco, dance, funk, and Black club-music traditions.
The lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008. Other tracks include “Alien Superstar,” “Cuff It,” and “Virgo’s Groove.”
Renaissance received strong reviews and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. It is distinct from Cowboy Carter, which arrived in 2024 as another major chapter in her album career.
