What was Beyoncé’s 2022 dance-focused studio album called?
Answer
Renaissance
Answer
Renaissance
Beyoncé’s 2022 dance-focused studio album was Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as the first act of a planned trilogy. It marked Beyoncé’s return to a solo studio album after Lemonade in 2016, although she had released other projects and collaborations during the intervening years.
The album draws heavily on house, disco, dance, funk, and electronic music. Its lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 number-one single since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008. The album also includes “Alien Superstar,” “Cuff It,” and “Virgo’s Groove.”
Renaissance was praised for celebrating Black and queer dance-music traditions and the artists who developed them. It won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. The title should not be confused with Beyoncé’s later country-influenced album, Cowboy Carter.
