What TV name replaced Robert Arryn from the novels in Game of Thrones?

The story behind the answer

In Game of Thrones, Robert Arryn from the novels is renamed Robin Arryn.

In George R. R. Martin’s novels, Robert Arryn is the only child of Jon Arryn and Lysa Tully. He inherits the title Lord of the Eyrie after his father’s death, although his mother effectively rules the Vale as regent. The boy is commonly nicknamed “Sweetrobin.”

HBO changed his first name to Robin for the television adaptation, while retaining his family, position and essential personality. He remains a sickly, sheltered child whose upbringing leaves him socially maladjusted and politically vulnerable. The change is easy to miss because “Robin” and “Robert” are both plausible names in Westeros.

Robin’s story continues after Lysa’s death: Petyr Baelish becomes his guardian and later places him under Yohn Royce’s supervision. He ultimately remains Lord of the Vale and appears at the Great Council near the end of the series.
