What symbol represents the Paralympic movement?

The story behind the answer

The Agitos represent the Paralympic movement.

The symbol consists of three curved elements in red, blue and green, the colours most widely used in national flags around the world. The word Agitos comes from a Latin expression meaning “I move.” Its design conveys motion and the idea of bringing athletes together through sport.

The current Agitos emblem was introduced in 2003, replacing an earlier symbol based on three Tae-Geuks. It appears in the Paralympic emblem, branding and ceremonies, while the Olympic movement uses five interlocking rings. A frequent mistake is to call the Agitos the Paralympic “rings”; unlike the Olympic rings, the three shapes do not interlock. The emblem is separate from the Paralympic Games mascot, which changes for each edition.
