What subtitle was used for Rayman Legends on Nintendo Switch?

The story behind the answer

The Nintendo Switch version of Rayman Legends was released as Rayman Legends Definitive Edition.

This edition arrived on Nintendo Switch in September 2017, several years after the original game’s 2013 launch. It is a port of the acclaimed platformer, but the subtitle distinguishes it from the PlayStation, Xbox, Wii U, Vita, and PC releases. “Anniversary Edition,” “Gold Edition,” and “Enhanced Edition” are not the official Nintendo Switch subtitle.

The Switch version was co-developed with Pastagames and adapted the game for Nintendo’s hybrid hardware. In handheld mode, touchscreen controls can be used in appropriate sections, including interactions involving the character Murfy. The edition also supports local multiplayer features designed around the Switch’s controllers.

A notable addition is an expanded Kung Foot experience, the game’s soccer-inspired minigame. The Switch release includes solo and tournament options, alongside local multiplayer. These extras explain why “Definitive Edition” is more than a regional name change, even though the core adventure remains Rayman Legends.
