In the original Rayman, the blue crystal collectibles are called Tings.
Tings are small, sparkling blue objects scattered throughout the platforming levels of the 1995 game. They are separate from Electoons: Electoons are the creatures Rayman must rescue from cages, while Tings are optional-looking pickups that reward exploration and careful movement.
Collecting 100 Tings gives Rayman an extra life in the original game, although the exact rules vary among ports and later versions. Tings can also be spent with the Magician to enter bonus stages, giving them both a survival role and a connection to the game’s secrets.
They are easy to confuse with Lums, the glowing collectibles introduced in Rayman 2, or with Electoons, the rescued beings central to the first game’s story. “Tings” is the canonical name used for the blue crystals in the original Rayman.
