What stolen object must Rayman recover in the original Rayman?

In the original Rayman, Rayman must recover the Great Protoon, a magical object stolen by the villain Mr. Dark. Its theft disrupts the balance between nature and the people of the valley.

The Great Protoon is central to the game’s opening premise. It normally maintains harmony, while the Electoons orbiting it help stabilize the world. After Mr. Dark steals the Protoon, the Electoons scatter and many are captured by enemies. Rayman’s mission therefore combines recovering the stolen object with rescuing the imprisoned Electoons.

Several other objects from the Rayman series can cause confusion.
