What resolution did the original PlayStation Vita's OLED screen use?

The story behind the answer

The original PlayStation Vita's OLED screen used a resolution of 960 × 544 pixels.

Sony launched the first Vita model with a five-inch capacitive touchscreen using OLED technology. The resolution produced a 16:9 display and gave the handheld a sharper image than the earlier PlayStation Portable's 480 × 272 screen.

The Vita also included a rear touchpad, two analog sticks, motion sensors, cameras, and support for digital downloads and proprietary game cards. Its hardware was designed to deliver a console-like experience in a portable format.

The later Vita 2000 revision replaced the OLED screen with an LCD panel. That redesign kept the same 960 × 544 resolution, so the resolution is associated with the Vita platform rather than only the first screen technology. The OLED model is often called the original or “1000” series Vita.
