What length does Genesis give Noah’s Ark in cubits?

The story behind the answer

Genesis gives Noah’s Ark a length of 300 cubits.

Genesis 6:15 lists the ark’s dimensions as 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. A cubit was an ancient unit commonly related to the length of a forearm, but its exact historical standard varied.

Because the cubit was not a universal fixed measurement, converting the ark’s length into modern units produces estimates rather than one certain figure. Depending on the cubit used, 300 cubits is often estimated at roughly 135 to 150 metres.

The dimensions are a length-to-width-to-height specification, not a modern engineering blueprint. Popular reconstructions can therefore differ while still using the same Genesis measurements.
