What item do players use to capture weakened Pals in Palworld?

The story behind the answer

Players use Pal Spheres to capture weakened Pals in Palworld. After reducing a wild Pal’s health, the player throws a Pal Sphere at it and waits to see whether the capture succeeds.

Pal Spheres are the game’s basic capture devices, but they are not all identical. Palworld includes several grades of sphere, and stronger versions generally provide better capture chances against higher-level or more powerful Pals. The player’s capture odds are also affected by the target’s remaining health, status effects, and the situation in which the sphere is thrown.

The mechanic invites comparison with Poké Balls, but “Pal Spheres” is the correct in-game term. Capture Nets, Soul Gems, and Poké Balls are not the standard devices used to catch Pals. The spheres are also part of Palworld’s crafting and survival loop: players can find them, receive them as drops or rewards, and manufacture them after unlocking the necessary technology and materials.

Captured Pals can be summoned for combat, assigned to base tasks, used as mounts, or deployed through their Partner Skills. This makes the sphere more than a one-time collectible tool; it is the gateway to nearly every major Pal-related system.
