The standard edition of Metallica's The Black Album contains 12 tracks.
The sequence begins with “Enter Sandman” and ends with “The Struggle Within.” Between them are ten more songs, including “Sad but True,” “The Unforgiven,” “Wherever I May Roam,” and “Nothing Else Matters.” The standard program runs for about 62 minutes and 31 seconds.
The album's track count can vary in listings for expanded or regional editions. The Japanese edition, for example, adds “So What,” a cover of a song by the Anti-Nowhere League. That bonus track is not part of the original standard-edition sequence.
The vinyl presentation also divides the original twelve tracks across four sides, with three tracks on each side. This can make physical-edition track listings look different, but it does not change the standard album's total of twelve songs.
