What is the title of the first album in Beyoncé’s Renaissance trilogy?

Renaissance is the first album in Beyoncé’s planned trilogy. Beyoncé released the album on July 29, 2022, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

The album is also known as Act I, making its place in the trilogy explicit. Its sound draws heavily from house, disco, dance-pop, funk, and ballroom traditions. The lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 number-one single since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008.

Renaissance received broad critical acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. Its follow-up, Cowboy Carter, was released in 2024 as Act II. Beyoncé described the projects as a three-act body of work rather than ordinary unrelated albums.
