What is the title of the 2021 53-track covers album created for The Black Album's 30th anniversary?

The 2021 53-track covers album created for The Black Album's 30th anniversary is The Metallica Blacklist. It was released on September 10, 2021, alongside a major reissue campaign for Metallica.

The compilation features more than 50 artists performing songs from the 1991 album in a wide range of styles. Contributors included established rock and metal acts as well as artists from pop, country, electronic, and other musical backgrounds.

The project expanded the anniversary beyond a conventional remaster. It invited musicians to reinterpret all 12 songs, allowing listeners to compare radically different approaches to familiar material such as “Enter Sandman,” “The Unforgiven,” and “Nothing Else Matters.”

Profits from the album were donated to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation and charities selected by the participating artists. The project is connected to the album's 30th anniversary, not its 35th anniversary in 2026.
