Destiny’s Child’s 2001 album containing “Survivor” is also titled Survivor.
Survivor was the group’s third studio album and the first Destiny’s Child album recorded primarily as a trio of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. It followed the group’s highly successful second album, The Writing’s on the Wall.
The title track presents a message of endurance and confidence. Other major songs from the album include “Bootylicious,” “Independent Women Part I,” and “Emotion.” “Independent Women Part I” was associated with the soundtrack to Charlie’s Angels before appearing on the album.
Survivor debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified multi-platinum in the United States. The group later released 8 Days of Christmas and Destiny Fulfilled before disbanding after a final world tour in 2006.
