Beyoncé’s country-influenced 2024 album, officially styled with an act number, is Cowboy Carter.
Cowboy Carter was released on March 29, 2024, as the second act of Beyoncé’s planned three-act project that began with Renaissance. The album explores country, Americana, blues, rock, pop, and Black musical history. Its release followed the success of “Texas Hold ’Em,” which became Beyoncé’s first number-one single on Billboard’s country chart.
The album includes guest appearances and musical connections involving Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, Linda Martell, and Post Malone. Beyoncé described the project as a personal challenge and a response to experiences in which she felt unwelcome in country music spaces. The album’s full styling is often represented as Cowboy Carter, while promotional materials also identify it as Act II. It is not the same title as the project’s earlier act, Renaissance.
