What is the title of Beyoncé’s 2024 album presented as Act II of her trilogy?

Cowboy Carter is the title of Beyoncé’s 2024 album presented as Act II of her trilogy.

The album was released on March 29, 2024, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It followed Renaissance, which had been identified as Act I, and was presented as a genre-spanning project connected to country music and the broader history of Black artists in American music.

Cowboy Carter includes the singles “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” It also contains collaborations and reinterpretations that place Beyoncé’s work in conversation with country, folk, blues, rock, pop, and R&B traditions.

The album’s title is sometimes shortened informally to “Carter,” but Cowboy Carter is the official title. The name also connects the project to Beyoncé’s married surname and to the album’s Western imagery. It should not be confused with The Gift, her 2019 album associated with The Lion King.
