Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album that begins her planned three-act project is Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as Beyoncé’s seventh studio album. It was promoted as “Act I” of a trilogy, beginning a broader project built around dance, house, disco, funk, and other club-music traditions.
The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s eighth number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo performer. Renaissance also contains “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Virgo’s Groove,” among other tracks.
The record received strong critical recognition and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. Its release is sometimes confused with Cowboy Carter, which arrived in 2024 as the second act of the trilogy and explores country and American roots music.
