Beyoncé’s 2022 album that won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album is Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as the first act of a planned three-part project. Its sound draws heavily on house, disco, funk, dance, and Black queer club culture. The lead single, “Break My Soul,” introduced the album’s dance-oriented direction and became Beyoncé’s eighth solo number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album includes “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Virgo’s Groove.” It received nine Grammy nominations at the 65th ceremony and won four awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. That win made Beyoncé the first woman to receive the category’s album award.
Renaissance is not the same project as The Lion King: The Gift, which accompanied the 2019 film, or Cowboy Carter, her later country-oriented album. The title is also commonly styled in all caps as RENAISSANCE.
