Renaissance is the title of Beyoncé’s 2022 album inspired by disco and house music.

Released on July 29, 2022, Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first act of her planned three-part project. Its sound draws from disco, house, funk, dance-pop, and related club traditions, with extensive sampling and interpolation of earlier dance music.

The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” Other songs include “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Virgo’s Groove.”

Renaissance won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album at the 65th ceremony. Its success also helped Beyoncé become the artist with the most Grammy wins in history, reaching 32 awards in 2023. The album is different from Cowboy Carter, which followed in 2024.
