Beyoncé’s 2022 album inspired by dance music and club culture is Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as Beyoncé’s seventh studio album. It was presented as the first act of a planned three-part project, and its songs draw from house, disco, funk, dance-pop, and other club-oriented traditions.
The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo U.S. number-one single since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and incorporated elements associated with house music. Renaissance also celebrates the Black and queer origins of dance-music culture, including the work of influential producers, DJs, and performers.
The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 65th Grammy Awards. Beyoncé won four awards that night, bringing her career Grammy total to a record 32 at that time. Renaissance is distinct from the later country-influenced Cowboy Carter.
