What is the title of AC/DC's 1981 studio album?

The story behind the answer

AC/DC’s 1981 studio album was For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), commonly shortened to For Those About to Rock.

Released in November 1981, it was the band’s eighth studio album and followed the worldwide success of Back in Black. The record reunited AC/DC with producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, making it their third and final album produced by him. The lineup included Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd.

The title track became one of AC/DC’s signature concert closers. Its famous cannon blasts helped define the album’s identity and later became a recurring feature of the band’s live shows. Angus Young has linked the title’s wording to the ancient Roman phrase associated with gladiators, though the song’s concept was adapted into a celebration of rock audiences.

The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200, AC/DC’s first album to do so. It is often confused with later albums such as Flick of the Switch, released in 1983.
