Which AC/DC album was released in 1995 before Stiff Upper Lip?

The story behind the answer

The AC/DC album released in 1995 before Stiff Upper Lip was Ballbreaker. It arrived on 25 September 1995, while Stiff Upper Lip followed in 2000 as the band’s fourteenth studio album.

Ballbreaker was AC/DC’s thirteenth studio album and marked the return of drummer Phil Rudd, who had played with the group from 1975 to 1983. Rudd’s comeback restored the classic rhythm-section partnership with bassist Cliff Williams and guitarist Malcolm Young, giving the record a particularly traditional AC/DC feel.

The album was produced by Rick Rubin, his only studio album with AC/DC. Recording began in New York but moved to Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles after the band struggled to achieve the desired drum sound. Its best-known single, “Hard as a Rock,” had actually originated during the Who Made Who sessions.

The chronology can be confusing because AC/DC released the live album AC/DC Live in 1992 and the compilation Bonfire in 1997. Among the listed studio-album choices, though, Ballbreaker is the clear 1995 release preceding Stiff Upper Lip.
