Which AC/DC single reached No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in 2008?

The story behind the answer

AC/DC’s “Rock ’n’ Roll Train” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart in 2008.

The song was the lead single from Black Ice, AC/DC’s fifteenth studio album, released in October 2008. Its driving guitar riff, chant-like chorus and concert-ready rhythm made it an immediate fit for rock radio and a natural opener for the band’s subsequent world tour.

“Rock ’n’ Roll Train” topped Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for three weeks, beginning in late November 2008. It was AC/DC’s first chart-topper there since “Stiff Upper Lip” had led the chart in 2000.

The other options were also Black Ice tracks: “Anything Goes,” “War Machine” and “Big Jack.” That shared-album connection makes the question easy to misread, but only “Rock ’n’ Roll Train” reached the stated No. 1 position.
