What is the real name of Syndrome in The Incredibles?

The story behind the answer

Syndrome’s real name in The Incredibles is Buddy Pine.

As a child, Buddy is Mr. Incredible’s self-proclaimed number-one fan and invents gadgets to imitate superheroes. He calls himself “IncrediBoy,” but Mr. Incredible rejects him because he has no powers and interferes during a confrontation with Bomb Voyage.

Humiliated by that rejection, Buddy grows up to become Syndrome, the film’s main antagonist. He uses advanced technology, including the Omnidroid robots, to manufacture the appearance of superheroism. His long-term plan is to sell powerful weapons and eventually make everyone seem super, so that no one is exceptional.

The other options are characters from the same film: Bomb Voyage is a villain, Mirage is Syndrome’s assistant, and Bob Parr is Mr. Incredible’s civilian identity. Buddy Pine is therefore the canonical answer.
