In Finding Nemo, what is the name of the dentist who captures Nemo?
Answer
Dr. Philip Sherman
Answer
Dr. Philip Sherman
In Finding Nemo, the dentist who captures Nemo is Dr. Philip Sherman. After Nemo is taken from the ocean, Sherman keeps him in an aquarium at his dental office in Sydney, Australia.
Nemo meets the Tank Gang there, led by Gill, a scarred Moorish idol. The fish explain that Sherman plans to give Nemo to his niece Darla, whose rough handling has killed previous pet fish. To protect Nemo, Gill devises a plan to clog the aquarium filter so Sherman will remove the fish while cleaning the tank.
The aquarium storyline is often remembered mainly for Darla, but Sherman is the adult who captures Nemo and maintains the tank. Nemo’s escape attempt nearly kills him when he becomes caught in the filter machinery, although he later succeeds in escaping through the office’s plumbing. Nigel the pelican eventually brings Marlin and Dory to Sherman’s office, allowing the rescue plot to converge. Philip Sherman is voiced by Australian actor Bill Hunter. Dr. Jones, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Brown are not the dentist’s names in the film.
