Xbox’s achievement score system introduced with Xbox 360 is called Gamerscore.
Gamerscore is the cumulative point total players earn by unlocking achievements in Xbox games. Microsoft introduced the system with Xbox 360 in 2005. Each achievement has a point value, and the points are added to a player’s public profile when the achievement is unlocked.
Achievements can reward story progress, difficult gameplay challenges, exploration, or unusual accomplishments. The individual awards are separate from the Gamerscore total, which acts as a broad record of a player’s completed challenges across supported games.
Gamerscore is often confused with Xbox profile levels or competitive rankings. It is not a measure of skill, and two players with the same total may have earned their points in very different ways. Xbox achievements later expanded beyond Xbox 360 to Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, Windows games, and selected backward-compatible titles.
