What is the name of the wizarding sport created by J.K. Rowling that uses flying broomsticks?

The story behind the answer

Quidditch is the wizarding sport created by J.K. Rowling that uses flying broomsticks.

In the Harry Potter books, two teams of seven players compete on a large pitch. Players use broomsticks to handle balls and score points, while the Seeker attempts to catch the Golden Snitch. Catching the Snitch traditionally ends the match and awards 150 points to that team.

The sport uses three types of balls: one Quaffle, two Bludgers, and one Golden Snitch. Chasers score with the Quaffle, Beaters defend teammates and disrupt opponents with Bludgers, and the Keeper guards the goal hoops.

Quidditch is fictional, but its popularity inspired a real-world broomstick sport that later adopted the name quadball in many organizations. The fictional game should not be confused with Hogwarts activities such as Gobstones or wizarding duelling.
