The villain in The Emperor’s New Groove is Yzma.
Yzma is Kuzco’s elderly royal adviser and the main antagonist of Disney’s 2000 animated comedy. When Kuzco dismisses her, she decides to seize the throne. Her attempt to poison the emperor goes wrong when he is transformed into a llama instead, forcing Yzma and her assistant Kronk to chase him while he tries to return to the palace.
The character’s comedy comes from the contrast between her grand ambitions and her increasingly chaotic plans. Yzma is clever, theatrical, and power-hungry, but her schemes are repeatedly undermined by accidents, bad timing, and Kronk’s unpredictable decisions. Eartha Kitt voiced Yzma, giving her a distinctive performance that helped make the character a standout Disney villain.
Pacha is not the villain: he is the kind village leader who helps Kuzco survive and change. Kuzco, sometimes misspelled or confused with “Cuzco,” is the emperor and initially an arrogant protagonist. Kronk is Yzma’s muscular but good-natured henchman, whose conscience often interferes with her plans.
