What is the name of the villain in A Bug's Life?
Answer
Hopper
Answer
Hopper
The villain in A Bug’s Life is Hopper. He is the ruthless leader of a gang of grasshoppers that forces Ant Island’s ants to provide food every summer.
Hopper’s power comes from intimidation rather than genuine superiority. He knows the ants vastly outnumber the grasshoppers, so he insists on regular food offerings to prevent them from recognizing their collective strength. When Flik accidentally ruins the colony’s original offering, Hopper demands twice as much and later threatens the Queen.
The conflict turns when Flik and the circus bugs help the ants organize a resistance. Flik identifies Hopper’s fear of the colony, and the ants eventually fight back. Hopper escapes briefly, but a real bird captures him and feeds him to its chicks, ending his control over the colony.
Dot is the young princess, Molt is Hopper’s more easygoing brother, and Flik is the inventive ant hero. None is the main villain. Hopper is voiced by Kevin Spacey in the 1998 Pixar film.
