What is the name of the trophy awarded to the winner of the Ashes series?

The story behind the answer

The trophy associated with the winner of the Ashes series is the Ashes urn. It is a small terracotta urn linked to the historic Test rivalry between England and Australia.

The story began after Australia's victory over England at The Oval in 1882. A mock obituary announced that English cricket had died and that its ashes would be taken to Australia. During England's following tour of Australia in 1882–83, a small urn was presented to England captain Ivo Bligh as a personal gift.

The physical urn is not normally handed to the series winner; it is kept at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Since 1998–99, the winning team has traditionally received a larger crystal replica. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy belongs to India–Australia Test cricket, while the Frank Worrell Trophy is contested by Australia and the West Indies.
