The private investigator created by J.K. Rowling for her Cormoran Strike novels is Cormoran Strike.
Strike is a former military investigator who opens a private detective agency in London after leaving the British Army. He is physically imposing and has a prosthetic lower leg, the result of an injury sustained in Afghanistan. His investigations form the basis of Rowling’s crime series, published under the name Robert Galbraith.
Robin Ellacott initially joins Strike as a temporary secretary, but she becomes an essential investigative partner. Their professional relationship develops across the novels while cases involving murder, disappearance, blackmail, and public scandal unfold.
The series began with The Cuckoo’s Calling in 2013. Later novels include The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave.
