Answer
Rapunzel
What is the name of the princess in Tangled? Her name is Rapunzel.
Rapunzel is the princess of Corona in Disney’s 2010 computer-animated film Tangled. She is born to King Frederic and Queen Arianna, but Mother Gothel kidnaps her as a baby because Rapunzel’s magical hair can restore youth. Gothel hides her in a tower and raises her while pretending to be her mother.
Rapunzel eventually leaves the tower with the thief Eugene Fitzherbert, better known as Flynn Rider. Their journey begins when she wants to see the floating lanterns released each year for her birthday. She is eighteen during the main events of the film, and the lantern tradition is connected to the kingdom’s missing princess—Rapunzel herself.
The character is loosely based on the heroine of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “Rapunzel,” but Tangled makes her more active, curious, artistic, and independent. Mandy Moore provided her speaking and singing voice. Rapunzel later became the tenth Disney Princess and the franchise’s first computer-animated princess, joining a lineup that also includes Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, and other characters.
