What is the name of the Powerpuff Girls’ home city?

Townsville is the fictional city protected by the Powerpuff Girls.

The city is the primary setting of the original series. Its recurring locations include the girls’ home and laboratory, Townsville Elementary School, the Mayor’s office, and the various streets and buildings threatened by villains.

Townsville is presented as an ordinary American-style city with an extraordinary crime problem. The contrast allows the show to place giant monsters, supervillains, and scientific disasters alongside school, family life, and everyday childhood situations.

The name can be confused with real places that use “Townsville,” including Townsville in Queensland, Australia. In The Powerpuff Girls, however, Townsville is a fictional animated setting and the girls’ regular base of operations.
