Momoko Akatsutsumi is the Japanese protagonist who becomes Hyper Blossom in Powerpuff Girls Z.

Powerpuff Girls Z is a Japanese anime reinterpretation of the original American franchise. Instead of directly reproducing the original girls’ identities, it presents three Japanese schoolgirls who transform into superhero versions after an unusual chemical incident.

Momoko Akatsutsumi is the counterpart of Blossom and transforms into Hyper Blossom. Miyako Gotokuji becomes Bubbles’ counterpart, while Kaoru Matsubara becomes Buttercup’s counterpart. Their civilian names and superhero names are therefore easy to confuse.

The anime aired in Japan from 2006 to 2007. It is a spin-off adaptation rather than a season of the original Cartoon Network series.
