The PlayStation 5's standard wireless controller is called DualSense.
Sony introduced DualSense in April 2020 as the successor to the DualShock 4. Its most prominent features include adaptive triggers, which can vary resistance, and haptic feedback, which can provide more detailed vibration sensations than traditional rumble motors.
The controller also contains a built-in microphone, a touchpad, motion sensors, and a rechargeable battery. Its shape is more rounded than earlier DualShock designs, and the original launch version used a two-tone white-and-black appearance.
DualSense is not officially called DualShock 5. Sony changed the product family name to signal the new feedback technology and revised design. A higher-end model called DualSense Edge was later released with customisable controls, but the standard controller supplied with PlayStation 5 consoles remains DualSense.
