Ark Encounter is the modern full-size Noah’s Ark replica in Williamstown, Kentucky.
Ark Encounter is a Christian theme park that opened in 2016. Its central attraction is a large wooden Ark built according to the dimensions given in Genesis: 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. The attraction presents exhibits based on a young-Earth creationist interpretation of the biblical account.
The site is distinct from the nearby Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, which opened in 2007 and covers broader creationist themes. Ark Encounter is also not an archaeological discovery of an ancient vessel. It is a modern religious and educational attraction whose name refers directly to the biblical Ark.
