Ark Encounter is the life-size Noah’s Ark attraction that opened in Kentucky in 2016. The Christian theme park is located in Williamstown and features a large wooden Ark replica as its centerpiece.
The attraction opened to the public on July 7, 2016. Its dimensions are based on the measurements given in Genesis, though the structure is a modern replica and not an archaeological discovery of the biblical Ark.
Ark Encounter is operated by Answers in Genesis, the organization also associated with the nearby Creation Museum. Those are separate attractions: the Creation Museum opened earlier, while Ark Encounter specifically centers on the Ark replica and related exhibits.
