What is the name of the helpful mask in Crash Bandicoot?

The helpful mask in Crash Bandicoot is Aku Aku.

Aku Aku is the benevolent spirit of an ancient witch doctor, encased in a floating wooden mask. He serves as Crash's guide and protector, helping Crash and his friends oppose Doctor Neo Cortex and other threats to the Wumpa Islands. His face, colorful feathers and deep voice make him one of the franchise's most recognizable characters.

In gameplay, collecting an Aku Aku mask gives Crash protection from hazards. A single mask can shield him from one hit, while collecting additional masks increases the protection. Three masks traditionally grant temporary invincibility, allowing Crash to run through enemies and obstacles safely.

Uka Uka is the key common mix-up: he is Aku Aku's evil twin brother, not the helpful mask. “Voodoo” and “Mojo” describe related supernatural ideas or fictional terms, but neither is the name of Crash's guardian. Aku Aku also appears as a floating mask in the series' menus, cutscenes and story scenes.
