What is the name of the first Power Rangers theatrical movie?

The story behind the answer

The first Power Rangers theatrical movie was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Released in 1995, it was the franchise’s first feature film made for theatrical distribution and was built around the popular Mighty Morphin era.

The film follows Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Tommy, Rocky, and Adam as they face Ivan Ooze, an ancient villain awakened during construction in Angel Grove. The Rangers lose their powers and travel to the fictional planet Phaedos, where they seek a new source of power and encounter the warrior Dulcea. Their replacement powers are connected to ninja abilities and new machines, including the Ninja Zords.

The movie is often confused with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, which followed in 1997, or the self-titled Power Rangers film released in 2017. Those are separate theatrical productions. The 1995 film also exists in an alternate continuity rather than fitting neatly into the television show’s storyline.

Unlike most early television episodes, the movie used newly filmed footage instead of archived Super Sentai footage. It was released between the second and third television seasons.
