What is the name of the female robot in the film WALL-E?

The story behind the answer

The female robot in WALL-E is EVE, a sleek probe sent to search for evidence that Earth can support life again.

EVE's name is an acronym for Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator. Her mission is to scan the ruined planet for living plant material, which would signal that humanity might safely return. She arrives on Earth long after humans have abandoned it aboard the starliner Axiom, where WALL-E encounters her and quickly becomes fascinated by her.

EVE is not the same robot as AUTO, the Axiom's autopilot, or M-O, the ship's obsessive cleaning robot. BURN-E is also a different maintenance robot, featured in a short film connected with the movie. EVE's design deliberately contrasts with WALL-E's battered, boxy appearance: she is smooth, white, compact, and highly advanced.

In the story, EVE's discovery of WALL-E's plant becomes the key to humanity's return. Her relationship with WALL-E also supplies the film's central emotional arc, even though both characters communicate largely through movement, electronic sounds, and brief spoken names.
