The faun who helps Spyro in Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! is Elora. She lives in Avalar and is one of the characters responsible for summoning Spyro through the portal. Elora, Hunter the cheetah, and the Professor had been experimenting with the portal when they accidentally brought Ripto and his minions into their world.
After Ripto’s arrival, Elora helps organize the resistance and explains Avalar’s crisis to Spyro. The portal is disabled by scattering its magical orbs throughout the homeworlds, so Spyro must travel through Summer Forest, Autumn Plains, and Winter Tundra while gathering talismans and orbs.
Elora is not a fairy, although Spyro 2 includes fairies such as Zoe, who usually serves as a checkpoint character. Bianca is a rabbit and later becomes an ally in Year of the Dragon, while Hunter is a cheetah. Elora remains an important guide throughout Spyro 2 and appears again near the game’s ending, when she and the others help restore the portal to Dragon Shores.
