What is the name of the children's area at the Glastonbury Festival?

The story behind the answer

The children's area at the Glastonbury Festival is called The Kidz Field.

It is a dedicated family space at Worthy Farm, designed to give younger festival-goers activities, performances and places to play away from the event’s busiest music areas. Its programme has included creative workshops, circus skills, puppet shows, climbing equipment, sand play and other hands-on activities.

The area’s roots go back to 1979, when Arabella Churchill helped establish a children’s area at the festival. That edition was organised around the United Nations’ International Year of the Child. The initiative later helped inspire Children’s World, a charity founded by Churchill in 1981 to support creative and educational work with children.

The Kidz Field is therefore more than a generic children’s corner: it is the recognised name of a long-running Glastonbury festival area. “Youth Area”, “Children’s Corner” and “Family Zone” describe plausible facilities but are not the canonical name used by the festival. The unusual spelling “Kidz” is part of the official name.
