Randall Boggs is the chameleon-like villain in Monsters, Inc. He works as a scarer at Monsters, Incorporated and competes with James P. “Sulley” Sullivan for top performance on the scare floor.
Randall’s distinctive ability is changing his skin color and blending almost completely into his surroundings, making him difficult to detect. Unlike a literal chameleon, he is a fictional monster whose camouflage is a supernatural or species-specific power within the film’s world. Steve Buscemi provides his voice.
Randall secretly collaborates with company CEO Henry J. Waternoose on the “Scream Extractor,” a machine intended to obtain children’s screams more efficiently. His plan places Boo in danger and sets him against Sulley and Mike Wazowski. A common mix-up is confusing Randall with Celia Mae, who is a receptionist and Mike’s girlfriend, not the villain.
