What is the name of Tesla’s fast-charging network for its electric vehicles?
Answer
Supercharger network
Answer
Supercharger network
Tesla’s fast-charging network for its electric vehicles is called the Supercharger network.
Tesla opened its first Supercharger stations in 2012 to support long-distance travel in the Model S. The network uses high-power direct-current charging equipment, allowing compatible Tesla vehicles to add substantially more range than they would through ordinary household charging.
Superchargers are different from Tesla Destination Chargers, which are generally slower chargers installed at locations such as hotels, restaurants, and parking facilities. Charging performance varies by vehicle, battery state, temperature, and charger generation. Tesla has also opened portions of the Supercharger network to some non-Tesla vehicles in selected markets.
