What is the name of SpaceX’s satellite internet constellation?
Answer
Starlink
Answer
Starlink
SpaceX’s satellite internet constellation is called Starlink.
Starlink is a network of satellites operated by SpaceX to provide broadband internet service from low Earth orbit. Unlike traditional geostationary internet satellites, Starlink satellites orbit much closer to Earth, reducing signal latency.
SpaceX began launching prototype Starlink satellites in 2018 and started deploying operational satellites in 2019. The constellation uses frequent Falcon 9 launches, with many satellites carried on each mission.
Starlink is sometimes confused with SpaceX’s launch vehicles or with Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Starlink refers specifically to the communications network and its associated user terminals, ground stations, and satellites.
